a senior resident
My soul cries out for more of You, my Lord
My portion and hope
I close my eyes and feel You there
There's nobody else that can
take Your place
In my heart
- Cry, City Harvest Church Singapore: Cross Album
the final month of my 2nd year in Australia is here. The trees have started fluffing (producing some kind of white floss-kinda-thing) and it was a signal for me to start studying. Not the best of my study progress but I'm happy I got friends who can kick-start the study momentum with me.
I've been praying about asking God to show me what he wants me to do next year..and I prayed that He opens the doors to the plans he has in store for me. this year, i had ran as Economics & Commerce Rep on the ANU Students' Association and despite not getting the job, I wasn't too worried because I know He closes some doors and opens some - all this is part of the process of God showing me the direction He wants me to take.
The idea of applying to be a Senior Resident in Bruce Hall soon surfaced, and despite me worrying about my chances, my senior Charis told me that if this is what God has planned for me, He will see that His plan goes through, and that I should not worry.
The weeks passed by, and then came the interviews. Yet again I had a friend to help me 'prep' myself for the interview...helping me get into the chatterbox mood. Interview was surprisingly easy, or at least that was how I felt. But the most amazing is really how I did not feel any insecurity during the interview, and I was able to just speak truthfully and confidently. Praise God! I was not so confident about my chances for the SR job, so I applied for another leadership role within the hall, but in the end...
I am offered the SENIOR RESIDENT position!!!!
I'm so glad to get this offer, because it also meant that now I can confirm my plans next year, and not worry and feel insecure. Confidence boost will help in exam too, I s'pose!
All glory to Him, my Lord and my Provider.
